"Santa Monica Moonset" - It's ridiculous how colorful the sky is during blue hour on the west coast. I noticed a sliver of the moon in the sky as I was trying to figure out how I wanted to compose my shot of the Santa Monica Pier which I posted the other day. This long exposure abstract composition was too good to pass up. (5s, f/6.4, ISO 200)
"Blue Hour at the Santa Monica Pier" - In January of 2023 I saw my first West Coast sunset and it was such a strange experience to see the sun slip under the horizon rather than rise above it like I've spent my life seeing. The clouds were perfect for some beautiful blue hour clouds, and the colors of the pier reflecting off the water were magical. I'm here for work but I'm really glad I brought my camera. 15s, f/16, ISO 125.
"Copper River" - The setting sun casts an otherworldly copper glow over the little channels of receding water cut through the sand as waves crash and flow back to the Pacific Ocean on the beach at Santa Monica. It almost looks like braided river channels high above some far off planet.
